March 27 to 29 - GOLDEN GATE ARABIAN SHOW

The first show in Region 3 is quickly approching! Though it's usually a fairly small show it has a great atmosphere and wide range of classes. I think this is a great show to bring young horses to because there isn't a lot of commotion, but there is still lots to experience. Classes generally range from very small numbers up to a dozen. The Golden Gate show is located on the Sonoma County fairgrounds; the stalls are the race barns (older, but still nice and good size with large aisles), one large outdoor warmup infront of the show arena (with others in the back generally used to lunging) and the show arena (Lyttle Cow Palace) is located centrally, is covered and large.
There are very limited RV spots on site with water and power hookups (first come, first serve), but across the street is a RV park with full hookups. Plenty of space to park trailers near the barns. Show office is located inside the Lyttle Cow Place. Nice grassy areas and the barns to the left have lots of trees around them. You always have plenty of room around your stalls if you are to the right or back left sides because they try to space people out.

They specified age groups with the SH classes. Probably got mad that we kept beating aged horses with our yearlings!

I love this show. It was our first show with our dearly departed Izzy (CW Princess Isabella +) and she and Katy did so well.

We also have a yellow garland from last year's 50th anniversary show.

We're on the fence whether we will go to this one or not. Depends on how I feel when we get home from Scottsdale I think. Will have to turn around and start training/conditioning very hard again right away.

LOL I want to go to show Fury SHIH ATH but I don't think I could get someone to drive me there to show in 1 class, not to mention it would cost sooo much money just to show in 1 class. Ugh... I hate how expensive showing is!

We are going to be there at about noon today, hope to see some of you there!

Yep, we did take the tri-colors in the HA Western Pleasure JTR. It was a really great ride and Grace was good and tired after showing JTR, Open and Halter those two days.
