I'm trying to get Blaze to go with me to the Gulf Coast Arabian Horse Show the first weekend in December. I've never been to a show on my own before and would like to see if you can help with some questions.

I'm renting a stall but don't know how many bags of shavings (10 cubic ft) to order with my entry. My horse doesn't have a stall with shavings, so I don't have a clue how many bags it takes to make the initial bedding and how much she will go through in 3 days. Will buy/borrow a shavings ...

When we both started showing as kids, it seemed like you could go to a show every weekend. And we loved it. We tried absolutely every discipline...made lots of lasting friendships (I continue to show Class A shows with some of the people I met at local dirt circuits years and years ago)....

So last night, I looked into the ACS shows. We're toying with ...

I came up with the idea of sharing unorthadox ammy training methods that would make the professionals cringe.

Here are rwo of mine:

Screw butt ropes to teach foals to lead. They get really bothered if the rope gets under their tails. Instead, have two people one at the lead and the other at the butt who gently pushes the little bugger forward as a gentle pull in appiled to the halter. It also helps if mom walks forward a few steps.

I do lots of ponying. I got the idea of dismounting ...
