| Trying to breed Jasmine again tomorrow, she didn't take the first time Course the vet that came out was a moron & spilled the stuff putting it into the syringe then lost more when she forget to let the air out of the syringe & it blew back when she tried to put it in. It was an adventure let me tell you! So, rebreeding tomorrow then check again at 14 days, if she doesn't take this time I'm done, I'm not going to keep trying when it doesn't seem to happen which will be a HUGE disappointment since the mare is the love of my life. Say a little prayer that this time things work & she can get in foal & stay in foal....thanks for listening, you guys are the best |

| Best of luck. I really hope that things work out for you. AI can be a pain in the butt. We've only personally done it once and it didn't work out. We weren't out much as it was a friend's stallion, just vet and collection fees. I understand wanting a foal out of your beloved mare, and a filly would be especially nice! _________________ Stacy Mortazavi Mortazavi Farms, home to Akdar Brins, sire of champions

| Blew back??? I have been AI'ing our mares for over a decade now and never had to deal with it blowing back. It is the easiest thing to do yourself. Ofcourse I had a great vet teaching me how to AI but when I did a google search to get a "visual" of a mare's uterus it wasnt pretty what came up.. _________________ Jerome SVS Arabians Palisade, CO (Where life tastes good) Standing SVS Fornaio (*Khadraj NA x svs Kouleysza) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANV-Tv1A-QYTop Ten US Futurity Colt Multiple TT Scottdale open and aoth Reserve Champion Calbred 3 year old colt |

| Ahhh, the internet. The things we can see in this day and age. There was a time when you had to at least buy her dinner first. LOL |

| well vet did an U/S & found no foal Jas was at 15 days when he did it so my guess is she'll be back in heat by the middle of the week, I'm out a fortune, not that I mind it because I wanted a foal from her so badly. If she didn't take this time, that's it, I'm not trying again. Has anyone ever had a vet do an ultrasound at 15 days & find nothing but the mare IS pregnant? I'm hearing it happens more often then I thought but just thought I'd ask all of you |

| it depends on how good the vet is. do you know what is keeping your mare from getting into foal? |

| my vet has over 25 years in practice most of it in repro. Jas was pregnant once & lost it between 45 & 90 days, her last one involved being foundered thanks to people at barn feeding her without my knowing. I gave her last year off & we have tried twice this year that's why I was wondering if it happens that the vet can miss a 15 day pregnancy |

| I think I answered you on FB about this. It can and does happen all the time. We haven't had it happen, but we do our preg checks at 30 days for our own mares. I've had mares that should be further along that weren't (ie: 18 days that were actually more the size of 14). So, at 15 days, she could have actually ovulated later. I do hope that your vet is wrong as I know how badly you want that foal! _________________ Stacy Mortazavi Mortazavi Farms, home to Akdar Brins, sire of champions

| Thanks Stacy I just found out that a TB mare at the farm we are in, a few years ago the owner was told the mare wasn't pregnant but she started putting on more weight then she normally carried...turns out she was 8 months in & had a beautiful filly 3 months after that. I'm keeping fingers, toes & eyes crossed...makes it hard to do anything though lol |

| no heat. she's at 21 days post breeding & 25 days since the start of her last heat cycle & she NEVER goes this long. I called the vet to come check her again but I think she took & now I'm scared to death about doing the wrong thing... |

| What do you mean by doing the wrong thing? It's good to have her checked again. And, it sounds good that she might be preggy. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. _________________ Stacy Mortazavi Mortazavi Farms, home to Akdar Brins, sire of champions

| wrong thing as in overfeeding, not feeding enough, not giving regumate if needed. all the normal fears I guess, this foal will be the second generation of our program |
