New Member - Hello Region 9

Hello everyone. I am new to owning an Arabian. I have a 5-y-o-arabian gelding that we purchased a year ago. I hope to start showing him in 2011. I worked around arabians back in the mid 70's in north Texas area. But since have only been dealing with quarter horses, paints, fox-trotters, weekend trail rides, 4-H clubs/shows, raising my 3 childern, and working. I currently have 5 grandchild (4 boys & 1 girl). Grandson #3 lives with us and at 2-y-o loves to help feed our 5 head and ride our 20-y-o ranch gelding. I am a member of the Alamo Arabian Horse Assocication and hope to become an active member. I believe your group is a great idea for the small owner/breeder that is becoming a major in the industry. It reminds me of how my daughter 4-H clubs helped the youth grow. Hope to get to know all of you.

Found out about the Ammy Army from the Modern Arabian article. I have had Arabians since the mid 80's. I plan to be showing this year. I am a member of the Arkansas Arabian club but have not been active with them this year. I am tired of working the shows...I want to be in the show!!!!!!

We are trying to get a group of Ammies together to show at the GCAHC Christmas show in Katy Texas if you are interested. They have guaranteed $875.00 pay out per Amatuer Championship. Should be a great show.
