Hello my name is Angel Portice. I am an artist. I am also the owner/manager of Arc Angel Arabians. I have been involved in horse for over 28 years now. I was an assistant manager at a large Arabian breeding facility quite a few years back. I moved to Michigan to be closer to family and got involved in another program while doing some training for them. The breeder was retiring and asked me to continue on, I ended up sculpting my own whole program around his plan. I have been at it for 18 years now.

I am guilty as charged for not showing in many Class A Arabian shows once I got my own program going. Partly because of the politics and some because of some bad things that I saw at two shows. It burned my hide a bit and turned me away. I do show in the Open shows and we have been VERY successful at that. I was told at my very first Open Show Circuit that my "Arabians" would never place against their Paints and QHs and that I shouldn't even be there. That was just a challenge to me so we went full bore. My two stallions took High Point Champion and Reserve High Point Champion the first year. They switched things up and the other took High Point Champion the second year with my other taking Reserve. We did that for about 4 years. Smile Smile Needless to say my Arabians gained some respect and a few people actually began to like them.

Now that I have a family of my own, things are getting into a groove again my interest in showing again is peaking. We took in a new stallion AUR MYSTIC HEIR who is just beautiful and as athletic as they come. His first foal crop hit the ground this year. I bred him to some great mares I have here. All the foals are top notch. One of the colts, ArcAngels Mystic Triton, just exemplifies everything I have been breeding for. He is the creme of the crop and I am so proud to be involved in his being here. He is one of those colts that you could hang it all up for and feel like you have accomplished your mission with breeding.

Anyway, I really am enjoying this forum and hope to get to know some of you more as time goes on.

Hi Angel I love your story! I had a similar experience with my now deceased *Aladdinn son at the local shows...he did very well against large open stallion classes! Welcome to the AA!
