Hi,

I am Sabine from Germany and I call an Anglo-Mare my own.

Can someone please tell me how to train the head position for the showring?

I am not having problems setting the legs, not even having problems keeping the horse to stand still. she is also stretching her neck...........

.....but I am having trouble getting the head higher!

Showing her fotos does not help ? clown

Someone her who could give me some usefull advices ?

I guess there is a lot you can teach me and I can practise my bad english as well.

Well I live in Münster/Germany - that is close to the dutch border.

Münster is a very horsy area. The horse registry and one of germanys most public studs with more than 200 stallions are only 20 km away. further, a lot of the olympic riders live in and around Münster.

But I am in love with the arabs.

This is my anglo-mare.

she is 50 % straight egyptian and 50 % thorougbred.

to be honest ........

my mare is not very intelligent!! Rolling Eyes

I know everyone is adoring the arabs for the intelligents - but it seems that mine is the only dumb one on this planet!

Do not get me wrong - I love her the way she is!!

But to characterise her - she is a mixture of kelly bundy and paris hilton.

means - looking good if someone is around with a camera and starts posing but is extreamly dumb learning dressage test!

she is a pretty mare .........

.........as long she does not move!!! Surprised

but she is kicking warmblood asses in show jumping ! Very Happy

That is a really nice filly. What plans do you have for her? If your mare likes jumping then let her jump. Not all horses are going to be good at dressage!!

Well, I am planing Dressage and Jumping, but time will tell.

Hopefully she is not planing becoming a western horse. In that case we have to go seperate ways in the future.

Not many show classes for anglos here in Germany. Only one class at one show this year - who knows if we still got one next year.

No class at the nationals etc. etc. pp.
