To Whom It May Concern:
Please accept this letter as an introduction to a new, dynamic group of Arabian Sport Horse enthusiasts. We are breeders, exhibitors, trainers and most important, we are lovers of the Arabian Horse Breed.
A large group of Arabian sport horse owners, trainers, exhibitors and enthusiasts has gotten together to form a new organization, International Arabians In Sport Association. Our goal is to promote the Arabian and registered Arabian crosses in the sport horse disciplines which include; working hunters, jumpers, dressage, carriage driving, eventing, endurance, as well as competitive trail horses. We want to emphasize we are not anti-AHA nor are we in competition with your local club. The goal is to be affiliated with AHA, the same way the AHRA and the AERC are. Our mission is to concentrate efforts on the Arabian sport horse industry, in all of its many areas. We are interested in helping to bring change within AHA by organizing together and gaining a larger voice than we currently have. We would like to educate the horse world about what Arabians can do under saddle. We want to show that they are not just 'Living Art' but athletic, talented, and highly competitive in many fields. It is time to change the negative perceptions that so many people have about Arabian Sport Horses in general and the Arabian Breed in specific. Our goal is to expand and grow the market for the trained horses as well as youngsters bred to be athletes. We want the world to see Arabian horses in a new light, hopefully garnering interest in the breed. We also want to bring our 14.2 and under Arabians into the spotlight where they can excel and reach an ever growing population who prefers a smaller horse. Sport Horse National Championships has been showing growth since it's inception in 2003. We want to encourage that growth, making it more attractive to exhibitors and spectators by providing additional incentives such as more amateur classes and educational programs. Other promotional ideas include creating media advertising and exhibitions that are public friendly, as well as generating other interests that will add revenue to our shows and help attract attention to our Arabian Sport Horses. We intend to be the 'go to place' for education and support of the various Sport Horse Disciplines with knowledgeable members others can come to for guidance. We intend to mentor the beginning Sport Horse enthusiast as well as giving technical and moral support to the seasoned veteran.
In the future, we'd like to create new incentives, programs and a more lucrative awards program. We'd like to be the ambassadors for the breed and intend to show the world just how family oriented and versatile our Arabian Horses are.
We encourage everyone to come and join the Association, participate and ask questions. If you are interested in being part of this exciting new Association, please join us at : iasa.arabiansinsport.org It promises to be an exciting ride!
Thank you,
Susan Bates Beth Thomas Cheryl Graves Janet Bellows Dottie Mainord Dave Murphy Frank Galovic Stacey Burdick-Taul Dee Matlock Karen Ernst

| No cost at all to the stallion owner all you do is donate a breeding to your stallion that we will sell for half price on a first come first served basis.
All foals prior to the donation are automatically in the program and all foals sired while in the stallion is in the program are automatically in the program.
We would love to have your boys in the program!

| Please forgive me if I am making a fool of myself here, but how does this differ from the SHN Payback program? This sounds exactly like SHN, and I am a bit confused as to why there are two groups doing what appears to be the same thing for the same breed.
http://www.shnpayback.org/rules.html - your list of qualifications looks to be the same as SHN.
I'm not trying to put anybody down here, just hoping for clarification. I watched too many people developing their own clubs/registries/associations/programs with the Kiger Mustang that all did very similar things, and it was incredibly detrimental to the breed. I don't want to see the same thing happen to Arabians, especially Arabian Sport Horses.

| First let me say that you are NOT making a fool out of yourself, the one who is a fool is he who has questions and does not ask them.
The two programs are very similar but will pay out to different classes and this program will pay out to the Top Ten. We do plan to eventually add payouts for Regional wins in the future and have plans to add a futurity, gelding program and a nominated mare program.
Our qualifications are slightly different in that we require there to be at least 5 horses in the Class A win classes and we have better defined the requirements for eventing stallions.
This program is also being run by an association with a full BOD and by-laws and all changes, etc require a 2/3 vote by the BOD, so we feel that this will be a very strong program once we get it up and running.
We have only started sending out stallion invitations and we already have over 20 stallions donated to the program.
Please feel free to visit our website to learn more about us and this program.

| This is such an exciting new thing and great to see it here on the Ammy Army! There are similarities in the two stallion programs but both programs benefit breeders and the new program will offer to more classes and more horses. IAHS already has some very nice stallions so check them out and pick one for your mare! | |

| Thank you very much for the clarification. I am really excited to see that there is a difference and that there are now multiple ways I could show and promote my stallion (versus having only SHN), who will be competing in Arabian Sport Horse for the first time this year. I look forward to learning more! | |

| arabiansinsport.org Hi everyone, sorry I have not been here to post. I am building the website for International Arabians in Sport and it is such a steep learning curve for me that it takes me ten times as long to do anything as it would somebody with more web experience. However, I am getting there, with the help of those on our BOD. Re: similarities to Payback. One of the big differences is the legal set-up. On our BOD, there are 11 people, who reside in California (3), Virginia(2), Idaho(1), Kentucky(1), Tennessee(2), Pennsylvania(1), and Wyoming(1). We all own Arabian horses, almost all of us have shown to a National level. We have two CPA's, A D.V.M, an ex-treasurer of AHA (one of the CPA's), a law student with an attorney attachment (her hubby), another with television and PR experience (in production), a couple of long time horse breeders (Arabs), a long time trainer(hunter/jumper). In other words, diversified and with a lot of collective experience. Some of us show both Sport horse and MR. Most of us are Ammy's. Our by-laws are extensive and also provide room for added incentive programs, which we are targeting as our nest project. We are ALL volunteers, oneof us is at it full time , in between taking care of 16 horses (that's me, and I'm old, so bear with me.) Another big difference is that we are not just an incentive program. We are a legal non-profit Association, formed to grow a membership which will alow us to garner delegates re AHA. We have goals that include working within AHA to effect change , not just in the sport horse division, but in the rules applying to members, class issues, show issues, etc. We want to be the "voice " of the Arabian sport horse. This is one division that is incredibly "Ammy Friendy" and growing, even in our poor economy, but it needs UNIFIED support. Hence the Association. We have similarities in our stallion Excellence Awards program, but there are some differences. Our rules are a bit tougher for qualifying at the "A" level. No "one horse" class wins, there must be at least five to count. We have added more explicit rules for the Eventing USEA section also, as that is a hard one to understand (even for eventers). We have made it far more clear. As Karen and Beth mentioned (both of whom are on the BOD, btw, as is Five Bays(Dave), we will pay down through the Top Ten at SHN, we have also divided the Top Sire Awards into breed specifications. We have one Top Sire Award for purebreds, and another for Anglos/halfs. No combining. Payback combines those, we felt it necessary to make sure that one of those winners was a purebred. No apples and oranges, though both Awards are equal in payout and "status". I also would to mention that we do not pay any classes paid by any other program, ie: no BS classes, no Payback classes. We will pay in the ones that as of now are not listed. Gives everyone far more opportunity to "go for the gold" as it were. We have membership forms and nomination forms available on our website and on our Forum. Lest you not understand, we also do not compete with any other Forums, we have a link to ablackhorse on our site, and a link to Ammy Army also. Our Forum is strictly sporthorse related, so I'm sure Del doesn't mind if you pop in to "visit" the neighbors from time to time. If you already belong to more Associations and clubs than your pocketbook can stand, we offer a "social" membership too. There is also no cost to nominate your qualified stallion to our program. We wil be offering a Futurity program for yearlings, and nominated mare program, and a gelding program. Another idea in the works is a high point yearly amatuer handler/rider Award. Lots of good stuff going on. We'd love to have you check it out. I know there a quite a few very nice stallions belong to the Ammy Army. we would be honored to have you join us! BTW, for those of you wondering, Peggy Ingles is also my friend and helps me quite a bit on the web stuff, there is certainly no enmity there. she has even designed for us our Excellence Awards "badge" . Just so everyojne is clear on that issue, Our FB page is still growing,at over 1600 now, and it's only 4 months old. Our Association will grow too. Please consider joining us and help to be a "voice " for the Arabian sport horse. Thank you, Susan | |

| Del, Do you mind if I copy my own post and stick it on my Forum, to answer those questions to people popping in over there who may not yet pop in over here? Also, maybe we should quote it for ABH? Don't know how you feel about it, so I am asking. Susan | |

| International Arabians in Sport is a recently formed organization devoted to the promotion of the Arabian horse and registered Arabian-related horses in all sporting venues. We are currently launching the IASA Excellence Awards for offspring of enrolled stallions and would be honored to have your stallion in our program. A complete listing of nominated stallions is included on our website, in a separate section solely for our Excellence Awards Program.Included in this post, you will find the stallion enrollment form. Also, please take the time to look at the nomination requirements for the IASA Excellence Awards on our website; the direct link is http://iasa.arabiansinsport.org/IASA_EXCELLENCE_AWARDS.html. The program will continue the popular format of offering half-price breedings to a roster of eligible and proven stallions. Proceeds will go towards funding cash awards for select Sport Horse National Championship classes. Stallions' existing get, those from this breeding year, and every subsequent breeding year that the stallion is enrolled will be eligible to win cash awards under the IASA Excellence Awards, and very shortly we will announce a new Futurity program for progeny of these stallions. Additionally, the Top Purebred Arabian Sires, and Non-Arabian Sires are eligible to win cash awards based on the performance of their get at Sport Horse Nationals. We certainly hope you will consider adding your stallion to this program. In the works are two more exciting programs! It is our goal to reach as many breeders and exhibitors as we can, eventually paying out awards to more Arabian sport horses, not only at the Sport Horse Nationals. Included in our immediate goals are plans for both a mare program and a gelding program. Stay tuned for progress and news!As background, IASA has been formed with written by-laws and a strong and experienced Board of Directors. We believe that this structure will allow for the necessary checks and balances to run both a strong organization and awards program that will stand the test of time.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Stallion program liaison, Susan Bates, iasaexcellence@gmail.com, or mail to: IASA: attn- Susan Bates 29626 Farmway Rd., Caldwell, Idaho 83607.We hope that you, your farm and your stallion will join us in both the IASA Excellence Awards and membership in the International Arabians in Sport Association .
