Hello all, I have been a member on here for a while, but my life has brought a LOT of ups and downs over the past several years including the tough decision to downsize my small herd this past fall.

One of the horses I gave up was my beloved Arabian mare, Leah. A couple of weeks ago she came back to me, she wasn't working out where she was. I've owned her for 9 years, but in the past 3 years, this is the second time I had found her a home and she came back to me. Both times she was returned with stories of negative behavior that I haven't experienced with her. I've finally now come to the conclusion that she really must be MY horse. (while she may very well be thinking, "it's about time you dummy")

I have long wanted to get into showing, but I'm as a rank a beginner as it gets I'm afraid. scratch I think I may take the plunge this year. Shocked

The first resource I thought of when I got her back (again) and started to dream of finally showing her, was this forum. She was shown in Halter as a baby and I'm sure she still knows how to strike a pose, it's up to me to learn how to ask her for it. She is extremely smart, athletic, and beautiful. I'm the weak link in our partnership and I know it, but... no more excuses... it's time for us to get to work!

I'm think of doing Halter and Liberty classes to start with and see how far we can get as far as any under saddle classes.

Hi,
Some animals are just that way - they form an attachment and they want YOU not another owner. Some behave badly, some won't eat....
Thank You for taking her back.
Do show her - just take it a little at a time. Those class lists may have a whole slew of things that you can enter, but for your first few shows, just pick a few classes to give yourself plenty of time to look around and prepare for what you have to do. Being rushed is about the worst thing that you can set yourself up for.
Go and enjoy!!!
