Hi All,

We have something we think will be really fun at the
2009 Andalusia Show--The AAHA Beg Borrow or Steal a Horse Amatuer High
Point Jackpot--say that 5 times real fast!! Anyway, the brief version
of the jackpot is this:

1. You must be recognized as a amatuer/junior by USAE.
2. You must be signed up by close of the show office on Thursday March 26, 2009.(but before is better!)
3. The Jackpot starts out at $2000, there is a $25 sign up fee with
100% of those sign up fee's going back the pot; 10 folks
sign up, the pot goes to $2250, 20 sign up, then $2500 and so on.
4. You may show any horse you own or any horse you can (so beg, borrow or steal!!), in any division for points--Halter,
Open, Ammy, Junior, SHIH, SHUS--in ANY class offered or purchased at the show. The rider/driver/handler must be
be signed up as the designated rider/driver/handler for the class
exhibited in for points to count---in other words, don't
run/ride by the paddock master as the gate opens hollering your and your horses name and expect those points to
count in your totals.
5. Points are awarded as follows: 1st place - 5 points, 2nd place - 4 points, 3rd place - 3 points, 4th place - 2 points,
5th place - 1 point. Points will be awarded regardless of the number of horses show in the class, and just to
make it fun; DOUBLE points will be awarded in all championships offered, including Halter and SHIH.
6. Final totals and the winner will be determined within 30 minutes of the last class on Sunday March 29, 2009--YOU MUST
BE PRESENT TO COLLECT YOUR JACKPOT; if the high point winner is not present the jackpot will go to the person with
the next highest total.

This is the brief version ya'll, the version in the prize list is not
much longer--hopefully the prize list will be up in the next couple of
days so everyone can see where other additional paybacks are offered
too--I'm sure Molly will also have something up regarding all the extra
goodies we are offering soon!!

Just looking at the financial page of Miss Jean's book and comparing to last year I can tell you that

2008 2009
# of horses shown 83 141 = 69% increase

# of class entries 309 511 = 65% increase

Avg. size of class 2.05 3.78 = 85% increase

People 124 165 = 33% increase

Money received from exhibitors was also a rousing 71% increase!

Not
only did we have a bunch of horses there - but Saturday we had lots of
people in the stands. The radio remote broadcast really helped to draw
in the local community and we gave a way a lot of horse related
goodies. We also had face painting. I hear there was a BIG line for it!

This is what we need to keep our class A shows going. Promotion, promotion, promotion.
