Jasmine has come into her first real heat of the spring so, going by her normal routine, she'll come back in 21 days from now & then we breed her. I'm so nervous after the loss of her previous foal but this is a different stallion and the stallion manager & I have spoken a few times now so we have a definate game plan. I'm really excited about the breeding & being able to announce to the world, so to speak Wink

about the future of our program, we will have a new name, a new stallion to reflect the new direction.
I know some people will think the new name is to sneak away from the other stuff but it's not, it's to walk away from past mistakes, begin from the ground up & do something special. I'm pretty sure I'll get the support from everyone here, Del has been a good friend this whole time & when I do finally meet him, he's getting a huge thank you hug. Just send some good thoughts for us with this breeding because I'm really really excited about what my Jas & the stallion will produce.

I understand about the nervousness! I lost two foals last season--a *Piaff foal and a Spirit Thme foal. Both mares that were bred aborted when a tornado his my place and nearly took the barns down in on top of them! Thankfully the mares (and my show horse) were fine and I was VERY grateful for that, but I was torn up about loosing the foals. It's a risk you run with breeding, but that doesn't make it any easier. Have tentative plans to breed one of them back to Spirit Thyme this year--and I'm as nervous as can be about it!

I'm tentatively scheduling a breeding to my stallion (his first!) next month. Talk about nervous lol, so I get what you're saying.

Looks like the Bugatti breeding may be used on another mare later. Jas is coming into heat now it looks like & he's at region 12 so isn't available for this cycle & with Jas' past problem I want to start asap in case she doesn't take right away. I do have a breeding to another stallion so it's just a matter of which boy gets which girl Smile

My thoughts are with you and I hope all goes well.

Vet was out & we AI'd Jasmine so now it's 14 days till we find out if she took. I'm sooo nervous cause this foal is my keeper to show in sport horse since daddy is a sport horse champion. You guys will help keep me calm Smile
