Hi guys! For a while I've been a "reader/lurker" on ABN, but think it is time to break out of that rut! I have been out of the show scene for a few years (unfortunately) but with an incredible Anglo due in May and my Miss getting back into show shape we are hoping to start back!

I have 2 loves of my life; one is my beautiful 2 year old daughter (becoming an aspiring horsewoman herself!) and Miss Providence (my pure polish bay mare). Soon (the end of May) the thoroughbred mare I'm leasing (Mama's Rocker) will have a foal by A Noble Cause and that should be an exciting adventure (as I am so out of shape when it comes to foals!).

This is such a great thing for all the Ammy's out there! Lets all band together and have some fun!

Hope to talk to you all soon!

Shannon

Welcome!!!! I am also in Region 16, but live in NY. Great to see more people joining the Ammy Army! I'm Christina and have a crabbet/polish mare myself. What do you usually show in?

Yay, this was the main reason why I never said anything in ammy army on ABN as there really was noone in the region connected there! I'm so glad there are region 16ers here!

I mainly show Hunter Pleasure and dressage, but Miss was a Western Pleasure champion before I got her (10 years ago). I've taken her regionally and nationally at Hunter Pleasure JO and Eq and dressage upto 2nd level(back a few years ago though). Once I aged out we both took a break. She can't decide if she wants to go Western now or Hunt lol.. If she goes western that means I have to get a saddle (instead of using one at the barn) and a whole new wardrobe ... eek!

You show pleasure or more SH?

Huntseat.. I will probably be going only to AHANE this year (if I can get her sound, she is ouchy in the shoulder and right hoof right now Neutral) , next year when the foal is a yearling I will go to Hudson Valley/AHCC/AHANE/Region 16 & outside the Region for SHIH and possibly MR.

Awesome! I'm on ABN too, and I've talked to a couple other region 16ers on there.

I show pleasure, but I'd love to try SH, I think my mare would do well.

Hopefully we can meet up at the AHANE show. Hopefully I'll be at all 3 at the big E. I'd love to go to region 16 but I don't have a way to get there and I don't think I can afford it unless I give up one of the other shows.

I am planning on showing hunter as that what I did before I got my mare. Hopefully my mare will do well. She really concentrates when she figures out what I want from her. When we get to work she is all business. Rana,my mare, is a rescue and was never started undersaddle till My boyfriend and I got her. Rana is 13 years old but in a way I think its a great thing that she was never started, that way I never had to fix problems and habits she would have gotten. I am hoping to show at thte AHANE, it would be great to meet up with the rest of the Ammy Army troops.

I hope your mare gets better! Could it be an abcess? I know I said the naughty "a" word, but when we first got our mare she had one in her right front hoof. Thank heavens I used sugardine.(iodine mixed with sugar to make a thin paste) But I pray that its not the problem.

I hope to hear updates on everyone's horses and perhaps pictures and videos?

It's not an abscess, thank god (as the farrier was just out) we think it might stem from her shoulder or the fact that her heel won't grow properly. I think she'll do fine..the moment I tell her she has to prep for a show she is perfect lol..She is the biggest primadona you will ever see! Such a show horse lol

I will see ya there hopefully (I'll be there working and hopefully showing!)

YAY!!! We are starting to build up our region!! This is gonna be great! I would really like to purchase some Ammy Army drapes and we can all stable together or all meet under the cammo! Hopefully recruiting others as well!!!! Christina and I have been discussing how we can promote our region, meet others like us, as well as promoting Arabs and showing that they are really diverse, being a great family horse as well as show horse...that can do many different things! Anyone that would like to be involved with that, just let us know! We are hoping for more to join our cruisade! LOL
I am really getting excited for this year! I am planning on going to AHANE this year and showing my Anglo in SHIH 2 yr old & under!!

Can not wait to get to know you better!!
