PostSubject: Hello from TX   Hello from TX EmptyMon May 18, 2009 3:17 pm

I am back into Arabians after raising a family. As a teen I showed an Arabian/NSH in English and since getting back into Arabians I did a flip-flop and I went into the western division. As a teen my dream was to breed a Mare of my choosing to a stallion of my choice. Well let’s just say that dream in now a reality.

I have a Mare out of Link to Fame "Dreem Street Rose", her son SJ Legendario (CA Hermoso/Dreem Street Rose), new colt born April 3rd (El Nabila B/Dreem Street Rose) yet unnamed and a adopted gelding. At this time all my horses are either to young to show or were pregnant. SJ will go into training next year and I hope to be competing in the western division in a couple of years. In the meantime the El Nabila B colt looks like he will make a really nice halter horse.

Thanks Austin,

This really sounds like a great group of people. I'm really looking forward to meeting several of you. Is anyone by chance going to Michael Byatt's Open House this weekend?

I'm in the Marble Falls area which is about 40 mins outside of Austin.

Do you ever make it to any of the Open Houses in Texas? Michael Byatt is having an educational one this weekend. It should be interesting, the topic is Preventative health care and deworming programs. I haven't ever been to his place so I'm going to try to make it to this one. It never hurts to get refreshers courses on these two topics.

Are you going to be showing at the Region 9 show?

I wasn't aware of these open houses. I will not be there. It should be very good.

I haven't renewed my AHA membership since 2000 but will be doing so this year. I'm not showing as I do not yet have a horse. Planning to get one in 2010.

I'll be at R9 just not sure when right now. Have fun this weekend!

Judy,

I learned about the Open houses through several of the email list that I'm on, not through AHA. One farms that is close to you is Toskhara Arabians. I'm not sure if they are going to have a Open house this year but if I see anything I'll let you know.

Take care,

Rebecca

Rebecca,
I'm on a bunch of email lists, too! I need your sources because I've not received any info on such open houses. I'm missing out! That does not make a happy camper of me! I have not yet visited Toskaha but am very familiar with the farm.

I'd really like to know what email lists you're on if you'd be willing to share them. Thanks so much. It will be fun to meet you perhaps during the R9 Show.

The two that I feel I get more information from are www.ablackhorse.com or infoarabhorse.com. By the way Chistinne and Dick at Toskara post on blackhorse.com so you can keep up with their farm and breeding program. There is a minimal fee to join ablackhorse.com but it is well worth the money. There are some very talented people that are willing to help a beginner. I'll let you know if I see any Open Houses, I know Bob Hart usually has one late in the year.

I'll let you know if I'm going to make it to R9.
