PostSubject: AO Since Birth!   Wed May 13, 2009 7:02 pm

I am a third generation Arabian owner/lover, my grandparents bred Arabians in the 60s, & 70 and got out of it in the early 80’s when everything started to change. I showed the “A” circuit as kid in Western, NY but never showed the “big time”, it was too expensive for our family.

Went to college, left the horse world for 6 years; I went to an Addis Auction in 2004 and I was launched back into it when I won the bid on a 3 year Half-Arab gelding, (PR KHE El Duende). He took my heart and I haven’t looked back.

I’ve shown “Duende” in the local Community shows for the past 3 years, and I get the gate a lot. But I have fun doing it! Our local community shows are super competitive... and if and when I do win, I am going to be doing a Victory Pass; that’s a whole other story!

I decided a few years ago to preserve what was left of my family’s breeding program (which was one mare) and bred her and the result was a filly last June. She’s a Silver Vanity (Oran x Silver Gilt) granddaughter and Indian Magic great granddaughter. I named her Wentworth’s Legacy (Ellie).

There will be a lot of firsts for Ellie this year; first clipping, first bath, first show! And maybe if were lucky a first place will come our way. But I am really more interested in the long haul, doing things right to make the future easier.

So glad to have found the Ammy Army!

P.S. I saw the Liberty class at Scottsdale, I was there as a spectator. Great Class! What FUN! It was the best class that I saw on Saturday night!

Congratulations on deciding to continue your family's breeding program. Silver Vanity and Indian Magic were great, great horses in their day, and it's good to see someone continuing with them.
