| SOOOOOOOO I'm still coming up to AHANE .... buut I'll be the most useless person ever ... I fractured my leg this past weekend ... *shakes head* Word of advice ... if the little voice inside your head says to do soemthing instead of what you're planning .... you should listen to that voice ;-) Ah well at least I get my first horse related injury now, before my horse starts under saddle training. | |

| HAHA ... actually it's kinda good timing because Khonsu was doing soo good in his lessons that I ran out of things to do with him. And it was kinda obvious that he was getting bored. I'm considering sending him to a driving trainer this winter so that I can drive him next year... It seems his father is producing slow growing kids, and I know how impatient I am... If I don't have something to do it'll be impossible for me to wait until he's four to break him. Not to mention the farm he's boarded at actually has an unused track that we keep moderately maintained, more for riding but a guy who owns STB's does come use our track to give his own horses a change of scenery. Though On the plus side by the time I get back on my feet and capable of doing things my psudo older brother's wife will be so pregnant I'll be able to ride their horse ... which means I can pony Khonsu around .... and I'm rambling soooo I'm done .... haha. Wish me luck I'm goin to the surgeon's tomorrow to find out if surgery is necessary or not ;-) | |

We all got hurt riding horses. lol I've decieded till I can ride again, I will just have to show in halter classes lol. It will be something new and exciting. I hope you heal quickly. I'm hoping to show at the New York State Fair in August. Maybe I'll see you all there.

| hahaha ooo weee what a great region we are ;-) the only representatives and we've been/gotten injured since getting to know each other *shakes head* I don't know how much better off you'll be with halter ... I was lunging Khonsu when I got hurt. Update on that ... the surgeon decided that the hospital workers are IDIOTS ... and I trust this guy... he's one of the best in the state ... He said the injury looks more like I was dragged for quite sometime or I jumped off the roof of a two-story building .......... good thing I didn't black out from the pain, otherwise I'd think I had gotten dragge. Ah well ... on the plus side I SHOULD be on my feet by the time AHANE comes around .. wish me luck, Igo under the knife on monday. | |

| Surgery .... SUCKED. I got a plate and 4 ... I call them BOLTS they call them screws in my knee ... The break wasn't AS bad as we all thought ... I have hyper extended knee caps so the slope of my knee is reversed compared to every normal person in the world .... so the natural movement of my knee made it look like I'd crushed the joint when I really didn't .... Still means I'm prone to knee injuries in the future. Rehab ... is worse lol ... ok well not really ... Just annoying ... I have to take off my knee brace because it's not a walking one so it doesn't bend... and they want me to do my exersizes so often that it's a pain to take the brace off and put it back on. I get my walking brace in 2 weeks so then I won't have these issues..... I've already popped a stich...<< thats pissin me off how do you spell it... NEWHO popped a stich so I bleed when I do my workouts, again.. annoying and my foot won't flatten when I stand so I'm behind even though I do my workouts a bit more than I should ... *SIGH* I really don't have the patience for this ... I NEED to see my horse ... I think I'm gunna con my bro to take me to see Khon ;-) | |

| OOoooOOOoOooo That does suck that you tore a stitch out! I had staples and some were stikcing out funny and I was scared that everytime I went to put clothes on that they would rip out, so my friend that worked at a vet office had a staple remover and she came over and took the ones out that were bothering me! I did my exercises a lot in the beginning, then I was soo ahead of the game that I stopped doing them at home once i went back to work bc I didnt need to do them...LOL Now i just need to consistantly get on the treadmill. At first when I would try to run it felt like my knee would give out, but I actually ran full out the other day with TJ and my knee felt fine!!! I even got on a horse the other day for the first time since I was bucked off! He was such a good boy!!! I am gonna start taking some dressage lessons with a local trainer to get back iinto it bc I think my filly wants to be a dressage horse! LOL If you ever are in a bind and need a ride, I will gladly bring you!!Please as long as I am available I would love to help ya out! I know what it was like to not be able to drive for three months!!! It sucked sooo bad, I felt like a child!!! My boyfriend would not even left me drive to the barn, until the very end bc he was worried if i got into trouble what I would do! The barn is literally a five min drive from my house! We all need to keep our heads now and stop getting hurt! LOL Well I figure since almost 20 years of riding horses that this was my first serious injury that I should be good for at tleast another 20 years! LOL I hope that is how it is for you guys too!!!! Ok well heal up quickly and please, seriously, let me know if you need anything! I live in Wallingford, work in Orange so I am sure that one of those locations is close to you! Goodluck and keep up the good work with your excersices! before you know it they will be a breeze! Shana & TJ | |

| Haha thanks Shana, yeah my barn is 10 min from my house but I'm gunna have to wait another 2 weeks before I get my walking brace and then after that i'll be able to sneak out to the barn. The only reason I don't do it now is cuz I have a straight support brace so my leg is out straight. The other plus is I don't have to drive to therapy. I dated my surgeon's son and his family still adores me, which is funny, they invite me to all the family picnics and what not, rather hysterical in my book since they never invite his current girlfriend anywhere. OK point of that comment was that my PTs come to my house... I LOVE it! lol.
OOOO and I DID get to see my boy today ... he looks FABULOUS .. he's finally gained back all his weight and he's grown quite a bit in just 3 weeks. My buddy's been keeping up with his training so he's doin real good. I should tell him to work on getting him to stand for bathing, something he SERIOUSLY has an issue with ... hmmm I'm deffinately going to be taking lessons again as soon as possible. I know of a trainer who has done therapy work so knows exersizes to help strengthen my leg/legs and most of it's bareback so I wouldn't be over bending my knee at first.
ETA: I think I'm abit farther from ya ;-) I'm up in Simsbury and my barn is in East Granby.
