well the breeding season is almost over, so I thought it might be fun to see who chose who to breed to their mares?
I will go first:
Desperado Rose ( Desperado V x Apen Colorado) confirmed in foal to Lion of Judah
Aladra ( *Fawor x Aladina) bred to Star Ghazal pending confirmation
Mattaceres ( Zodiac Matador+ X Bksx Ceres) bred pending confirmation to Beywatch V

also, I have an Aladdinn Echo daughter that is 13 days past her due date, so please send some baby dust my way so she foals soon!

Our mares we either just bred or will be breeding in the next few days:

MP Aspen to Akdar Brins (our SE stallion)
and our SE mare Egypts Melody to Brins also

Outside mares:

QR Ana Marie bred to Akdar Brins
Keefa bred to our Jr stallion MF Khafaz Fahim

I think that's it for this year. We're giving a couple of our mares a year off.

I have two mares bred this year at my house. I just purchased a new mare to breed next year. I researched a lot on what I wanted to do since I probably won't be breeding anymore until I get some babies sold Smile

Audacious PS , my mare Lumiar Desiree (Lumiar Amadeus*Missy Dey Bask) is in foal to him for an early April foal
TC Miyake, my mare Dondi Rei Maria (Twinfir ExtraGold*Charmonique--Gdansk) we are expecting an early March foal
For 2010 breeding I just purchased Jealousy and she will be bred to I Got Lucky - he is out of the same dam of The Hurricane and TC Miyake

I am very excited to see what we will get, I am hoping the crosses I chose work out great

I'm breeding my Brass daughter to Maclintock V early in 2010. I purchased her too late to get her in foal for '09, so we're hoping to have her in foal in March or April!

Hey Kristen, have you checked out Baywatch V? if you are considering breeding to varian lines, he has some real fantastic babies that are very upright, and have won money in different futurity programs. just a thought ;-)

So sorry your breeding didn't work. I was hoping that it had.

I don't think our SE mare is in foal either Sad . Will have a full repro exam done in the spring and will try again. This will be 2 years with no foal. She's 15 or 16 this year. Plenty of time, but have been told that older mares that are bred can be difficult if they aren't kept preggy.

So, we have 2. They haven't been checked yet, but neither have come back into heat.

The first is MP Aspen bred to our SE stallion Akdar Brins. We love the filly that Brins' son MF Khafaz Fahim has produced with her. We can't wait to see what daddy can do.

Our second mare is a late addition, Morwenna (Polish/Egyptian cross and black) also bred to Brins. We're hoping for a black foal (of course) and a nice big mover with good substance and bone. Brins should add the refinement that the mare is lacking.

and, QR Anna Marie (an Enzo mare) is confirmed in foal to Akdar Brins as well. That will be an exciting foal. We have a half sister that we got to breed later (she's still a yearling) that will be similar in build. Will have to see what the cross produces.

how exciting Stacy. sorry about your older mare. all of my mares are over 19, and we had no problems with any of them with the exception of Aladra, she had only one foal about 10 years ago. it took 2 cycles to get her to settle. I don't know if you have tried Oxy on the older mare? I use it on all of my older mares, and it works like a charm. the only mare I used regumate on was Aladra, only because she settled and slpped embryos all year last year. but this time on the regumate she is 60 days confirmed in foal, so that worked for her....... maybe when you breed her next year use Oxy and then have her progestron tested, then you will know if you need to use regumate or not?
