| It's been awhile since I've checked in on you guys so I figured I'd stop and say hi, give ya'll and update and see what you guys are up to.
Me, I'm doing well. The leg is healing well and I've been cleared to begin walking, With the help of my crutches or a walker. other than that I'm bored stiff... O I am going on vacation for a week starting tomorrow for the first time in like 5 years so that'll be nice.
Khonsu, Boogerhead is doing well. He's enjoying pasture life like no other. He got his teeth done for the first time 2 weeks ago, he was sooo good. The dentist and vet tech were FLOORED by the size of his wolfteeth, they'd never seen any so big before.... though I have no clue how big they were since we decided to just grind them down instead of pulling them. Then he got his feet done by my new farrier. He tested him abit but was otherwise really good .. and I LOVE this new farrier.. he's a barefoot trimmer and Khon's feet have never looked so good before. He's grown quite a bit and I need to get new pics of him and get him measured. I'd love to know how big he is now.

| HI Tekii184. I have been cleared by my doctor to ride again. I'm excited and well Rana is sad her vacation is over. I rode a friend of mine's 2 quarter horse mares and i t felt great to get back in the saddle. But I am a little afraid to get back on Rana. I have been preparing to go to the NYS Fair(Deadline's August 15!!!) I will be showing Ammy of course and I would love to have the Ammy Colors flying. I'll be showing in halter classes only as Rana needs to really be trained for western pleasure. Maybe next year. I do hope others will plan on showing at the Fair it would be fun or just come on out and help me spread the word about the Ammy Army.(that means you Region 16ers! hehe) I am looking for a show halter and lead to borrow or a used one to buy. I will try and get pictures asap. Christina | |

| Christina that's FABULOUS news .. soo happy that you're able to start riding again. Good luck with the show and I wish I could come support you but unfortunately I already have plans.
Check e-bay and green river tack... you can find some nice but cheap halters there. the Green river halters .. some are ick and others are nice but they've got good prices.

| LOVELY halter.. love the purple color. And congrats on sitting on Rana.. that's fabulous that she was so good after thhe extended break. I'm deffinately excited and dreading the day I get to sit on Khon since it'll be his third time with me sitting on him and his first lessons in going under saddle. But that won't be for quite awhile yet so at least there's time. | |

| Hopefully Khon will get the idea sometime soon. I dont think it will take long at all. Was he that bad the last 2 times under saddle? For the past month I used Gertrude the best horse riding dummy there ever was. Rana learned real quick not to try and dump her. Gertrude cant get thrown off if she's tied on lol. Now I can get Gertrude on Rana bareback. Basically Gertrude is a dummy made out of an old pair of pants and t-hirt stuffed and tied to the saddle. Its an idea from MOnty Roberts. I loved it but I do have to say Rana wasnt crazy about it at first. lol | |

| hahaa good idea I might have to do that for lunging ... no actually Khon floored me with how calm and accepting he was the last 2 times I mounted him and just sat there to get him used to swinging legs and me shifting my weight ... my concern is my ability to ride after such a long time off *a whole year*and the loss of muscle from the broken leg. | |

| Very true, hopefully you can build the muscles up. I have been riding Rana more consistantly at the walk. She is very calm about it all. But I still wear my riding helmet even if I'm riding western lol. | |

| I have to admit .. I normally don't wear my helmet when I ride western unless it's youngins and problem horses i'm retraining. But when I ride english I always wear it without a second thought.
Saddly my surgeon's telling me I most likely won't be able to ride until mid summer or next fall!! ... I've gotta admit I've been good about following orders but I drawthe line at almost a year ... im gunna have to break the rules on this one ... but what he doesn't know won't hurt him

| Ok, so a decision has been made. Rana needs a new home that can train her out of this stupid bolting thing. Or just to be used as a broodmare. Please let me know if you know any great homes out there for a little arab mare. | |

| Aww I'm really sorry to hear this. I saw your post. But you must do what's best for you and what's best for Rana. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone but I WILL keep my eyes and ears open for you.... try posting her on the Arabian Breeders Board. | |
