| Okay, all you seasoned show people. I have started searching for local shows to practice at and haven't found a really great resource for information. Where can I go to find out about local shows to practice at and are any of you planning on going to any of them? So far I've found Bluebonnet AHC, the ARABS shows in Katy, Hunt County Horsemans all breed, and the Catch the Spirit ACS. But there's got to be more out there! | |

| Ah yes! The NTACH Shoot Out show. I found that one too and am hoping to be ready for it. I have been to Glen Rose many times for dog shows in January when it's freezing. It'll be different actually having a horse in those stalls and rings. | |

| Well, if you decide to go, I'm planning on taking my colt out for his first show. We can stall together and go through first show jitters together! | |

| Sounds Great! I'm hoping to have a few practice shows under my belt before then. Question: What's the difference between a Class A show and a Class B show? Do they both qualify for Regionals and Nationals? The Arkansas Club has a Class B show coming up in September and I wondered what makes it a B, instead of A... | |

| Class A are your qualifiers and where you're going to get most of your points. If you're looking to qualify for Reg and Nat that's where you want to show, but as a warm up nothing is better than a Class B! I think the Glen Rose show will be our first. I'm gelding him come Oct., and he's only 2 so I only do in hand with him now... I'm picking up his mother on Monday, so I'm going to see how much she knows and I may ride her. I'll be going to most of the Texas shows this year, so hopefully we can set something up to stall together at those shows we both do go to... | |

| I believe that you are quite a bit north of me, I'm in Houston, but here are the resources that I use.

http://www.texashorsemansdirectory.com/sch.htm
http://www.horsegazette.com/Events.php
There are a bunch of schooling shows held in Houston that I know about, but I bet they have the same thing around Dallas. My favorite schooling show is the ARAB one held at the GSWEC, classes are $10.00. There are also dressage schooling shows and hunter schooling shows held here at least monthly. Here is the hunter (classes are $14.00) http://www.gchsa.org/ And the dressage: http://www.houstondressagesociety.org/eventscalendar_schoolingshows.php
These aren't Arab shows but the fees are reasonable and the people are nice. We will be at the Spring stables dressage schooling show in Oct.

| Lonestar has a variety of shows held at Mystic Acres in Terrell- they are all breed and lots of fun. Many who show in R9 use them for warmup for Class A shows and the club schedules their shows to make that easy.
The Shootout is always a fun show, just make your hotel reservations early!
Here's the link for Lonestar...Futurity and Open Show this wkend!

| Nothing down toward Houston?
ARABS of Katy I can't find a website nor information on and that is closest to me as I live just south of Houston around 45 minutes from Galveston.

| Hm, I heard about the Houston All Arabians show through Arabian Breeders Network. That one I am seriously considering as I am just getting him and no doubt have a lot of prep work to do - time will tell. So many months to go! I will look into the other. The judge is mailing me some more information on the Houston All Arabians show. | |

| True to that. I just need to make sure I hit Houston/San Antonio as well for the rodeos/shows to try my hand at getting a scholarship. | |
