| Hi Everyone!
I am so glad I have found this site. I am in Amarillo - and I think I am about the only Arabian person here. I know there are a few that participate in endurance/trail riding; but I've not found a fellow Class A exhibitor. I am so lonely!
I am the proud owner of 3 Half-Arabians and one senior citizen purebred. I am hoping to be able to get my act together and get back into showing. I used to show in Region 3 (No. California) from the early 80s to mid-90s. I have kind of been on hiatus since 96 as my show horses became equine senior citizens and deserved to live out their lives well cared for and comfortable. I finally have a couple of show horse prospects...... two very classy Half-Arabian country horses and maybe a Half-Arabian western horse.
I am somewhat dismayed that there just isn't much of an Arabian presence here. I would really like to get some help with lessons. I have looked at the Dallas/Ft. Worth area; but that is a 6 hour haul. Oklahoma City is only 4 hours; but I havent found many Arabian trainers there. Does anyone know of a trainer I may have overlooked? I know of one very nice lady in Lubbock (2 hours away), but she is much more into Dressage and Sporthorse and I would prefer to stick with country pleasure with my crew at this time.
I am lucky that I am in a good spot to also go up into Colorado. I figure that Region 8 is a very realistic trip for me. I am hoping (fingers crossed all goes well), that I can attend the Labor Day weekend show in Colorado as either a spectator or actually showing one of my horses.
Sorry, didn't mean to get so long winded; just so happy to find an Ammy-owner gorup like this. If there is anyone at all in my area that has any insight into trainers or fellow show people, do let me know. I would dearly love to get back into showing soon and join you all at a show this fall.

| Hi and welcome! There are LOTS of Region 9 Ammies that are on this board. Sorry you are so far away from where the shows seem to be. Houston has quite a few. Waco, Ft. Worth and also San Antonio have a bunch. More than enough to get qualifications. | |

| Hi to everyone!
Oh Natalie I do wish I was over on that side of Texas, more than you know! I sometimes feel I made a little mistake moving here... but the job is too good to quit now. So, I'll be trying to do what I can and I keep looking for others like me here. Lessons and comaradarie are my big goals right now. Just have to find it!
I won't make Region 9 this year, but plan to attend either as a spectator or maybe showing (???) at Glen Rose. Gives me time to get it all together.
I hope to get a chance to meet all the Region 9 members of the Army sometime in the near future.

| I'm in Region 9, we are out here. I live close to Marble Falls, Texas but I run into people all over the state going to shows. If I hear of anyone up in your direction I'll let you know. Keep in touch, I'm going to try to make the Glenrose show may have a couple of horses showing. My Mare was shown this year at Regionals and took Top 5 in Western Pleasure 14-17. This is the first season she has been shown and that was her fifth show so I'm pretty proud of her. I should have her at Glenrose so if you make it let me know. | |

| Hi Arabgal, So glad to meet you and congrats on the top five at Regionals! That is terrific news. Region 9 is tough - you should be proud. I too will be heading towards Glen Rose in November. I am hoping to have my gelding ready to go, but if not, I am for sure going as a spectator. As we get closer, let's touch base so we can meet up. I am looking forward to meeting more of the Ammy Army in Texas and neighboring states. I have actually been through Marble Falls, you live in a lovely part of Texas. Wishing you the best and keep me posted. Kelli | |

| Kelli, That sounds great, I would love to meet you in person. If you don't bring your gelding you can come and join our group and cheer on the horses? This year I have gotten to know a few people since Dreem is showing. I'm sure my Mare will be at the Glenrose show, showing in Western Pleasure and Side Saddle. I like to stay at the Best Western since you can walk back and forth to the show. | |

| Kelli,
Anytime you come to Fort Worth for a show: Cowtown Classic, MayFest, and, Regionals, you're more than welcome to stay with me. I just have a 1 bedroom apartment but it's plenty big enough.
I'm on the north end of Fort Worth just east of the I-35W and I-820 interchange. It's an easy drive to the Will Rogers about 12 miles south. I'll show you the back way so you don't have to contend with the downtown Fort Worth area.
Keep in touch at my home email address: barrelracing1@yahoo.com.

| That is great to know. Not sure when we'll get there, but hope to someday make Regionals. Baby steps here, just trying to get to Glen Rose this year. If all goes well with that, then we'll start planning next year's shows.
If we have a nice fall and cooperative weather, we just might make the Glen Rose show after all.

| Hey Arabgal -
Do you have the contact info for the Best Western in Glen Rose? I am thinking I better make a reservation.
