Ok, fellow Arabian showmen, I have a question. A friend of mine received a very cute HA filly in trade for a mare she needed to rehome. This iwas a 2 year old, now 4, that appears to have had the tip of her right ear cut off. Some ranches still do this type of branding or they can freeze off in some areas. However, she was born in Phoenix and has never left this area, so I'd say it was not likely frozen.
My question is, would this affect her showing in any performance classes? She is not a halter horse, so not concerned with that arena. They are very new to the Arabian horse world and want to rehome this filly. They were told she isn't worth anything because of her ear. She's small right now and this girl is a very large gal. The filly was for her step daughter that now has no interest in horses whatsoever. She is a lot more than they can handle, too. The old saying about Arabians being smarter than......so true in this situation, won't say anymore.
So if any of you have a place that state any rules regarding this (I've looked in the USEF Rule Book), I'd appreciate it.
