Upcoming Opportunities

Hi All,
OHAHA just had their spring show at Robert's Arena in Wilmington Ohio. They included Select Classes and plan to include them again for the fall show. Here is some info:
"For the Fall Show David reported we have added Select Rider classes in Western, Hunter
Pleasure, English and Country Pleasure divisions. We have reduced stall fees to $65.
Entry fees are $15 for Halter and Performance and $30 for all Championship classes with
the pay back of $200 total with the break down of $100, $50, $30, and $20. Early arrival
will be $10 per stall. Fall Show dates: August 28-29, 2010. The judge will be Scott
Brumfield from Pennsylvania a 2010 US Nationals Judge."

The Roberts Management folks have just spent a ton of money to refurbish and upgrade the facilities, which had gotten kind of run down over the last few years. The arenas are all sporting brand new footing, the stalls have been repaired, and everything has gotten a fresh facelift. If you show in region 14, be sure to check this show out....If I was showing this one would be pretty tempting.

Oh - I nearly forgot...The OVAHA show is July 17 & 18 at the Champions Center in Springfield, Ohio. This show is extremely Ammy friendly. It is held in the covered outdoor arena. There is a covered warm-up, an additional warm-up, safe (fairground style) stalls are very close to the arena, as is the trailer parking. Last year attendance was great and they sold out all of the stalls near the arena and did have to stable some horses in the barns attached to the indoor arena....but still not a long walk. The bathrooms have good modern showers available and there is a snack bar on the premises. We will have the tack trailer there as well. The showgrounds are quiet and camping hookups are available.

Have more info on the OVAHA Summer Sizzler Shows. The Judge for Reg 14 show (Sat) is Leon Matthias. The Judge for Reg 13 show (Sun) is Terri Delbridge. Sport horse will be judged by Susan Posner.

The exhibitors party is an "Ohioan Beach Party" (yes tropical shirts are encouraged - the wilder the better). There is a free adult walk-trot class, reining classes, stick horse, lead line, etc.

Just noticed that next year's calendar for the Champion's Center in Springfield Ohio has both OHAHA shows listed.

Guys, if you haven't shown at this facility yet - it is well worth the trip. Apparently the MR show will be in the indoor arena (which is under the same roof as the stabling, food, restrooms, showers, etc.), and the dressage/SH will be in the COVERED outdoor arena, which is just yards away from the Indoor.

I have been at this facility often and have never seen it dirty or unsafe. (The facility manager has an Arab mare...if that matters to anyone.) There is plenty of parking and good RV hookups, the majority of which, are also close to the indoor.

I would love to go to this show if i able to find a ride for my girls. I cant really show both of them at the same time so somebody might be able to show one if interested.. they are both half arab hunters.

Dates for the OHAHA shows are April 22 - 24 and Sept 3 & 4.

The OVAHA Summer Sizzler will be July 16 & 17
