Hi,
I just joined. Although I have done traditional main ring and sport horse disciplines over the years, I know use one of my Arabian mares in Cowboy Mounted Shooting.

I've watched videos of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting competitions but unfortunately there aren't any groups up here. I have heard that they're trying to get it going in this region. It would be so cool if they did.

I added a photo of us shooting. It was taken a few months ago and we are much better.

I think the future of ammies is to add disciplines that are fun and that ammies learn to stretch themselves. I think a lot of the working western discplines. Gymkhanna type events would attract more people.

You have to get away from disciplines dominated by the pros.

What I would like to see is the ability for Class A shows to have a show within a show. In essence, combine ACS shows with a class A show. Give the independent amateur a low cost way of showing while not burning out the volunteers who work so hard to put on shows.
