Hi all,
We are a very tiny small breeder/Arabian lovers in the Midwest - specifically the Milwaukee, WI area. Currently we have two mares - one is my children's older Arabian mare, Raffina - she's 24 and past breeding age. She is a wonderful older gem of a gal - and still going strong.
Desperansa aka Desi is my mare - by Desperado V out of a Babson bred mare. She's in foal to Stetson Bey, and due April 1st.
We got in to showing in 2002 - when I bought our former stallion, BAD BeyOBask. Bey was sold last year due to my son having health issues at birth - which have resolved, thankfully.
Bey was trained for halter - and I got to jump in with both feet and show him as an ammy owner. I loved it - and so did he!
Since then, I've worked with Bey's colt - trained him for halter showing and showed him to a 3rd place in a weanling class, showed Bey himself and came home with some ribbons. Now we are looking forward to continuing on the tradition and fun with Desi - and Desi's foal this spring. Baby will be eligible to show at Iowa Gold Star - and I am so excited!!! This is our very first DSA bred foal.
I love the Ammy Army idea - I learned how to show halter myself, and have catch-handled for friends as an ammy. Del's process is a great one - and very low-stress on the horse. They learn to have fun with us in the ring - and I am loving it!!!
