We're small breeders who produced two HA foals in 2006 and have a purebred foal due in 2009 out of our *Barich de Washoe/First Class granddaughter, by the Khemosabi ++++// son, KpM Khornerstone.
We have not been showing, although our '06 buckskin HA gelding, AR Johnny Ringo, is in training and is being aimed for the 2010 Scottsdale HA Reining Futurity. The cost of professional training is very expensive, and we'll be throwing most of our available resources into this effort (lots of overtime and few vacations).
Why? Because we've bought into the dream that's sold to us in our breed publications, showing page after page of champions draped in ribbons and roses. It's not fair that this dream be only for the rich. If it's more accessible to all, I feel certain that the breed will see a rennaissance of sorts, revitalizing breeding and sales.
So thanks, Ammy Army, for seeing exactly where the problem lies, and possibly finding a solution that will work for the industry as a whole.
