Del...I also picked up the 3 ammo boxes today at the surplus store...is that enough or did you want more?...after Scotts, I can store them for anyone in Region 1 that wants to use them to decorate AA style.

Rebecca, that will do...thanks for picking them up...I am bringing one as well and plan to "lay" them out in the mulch once the display is set up. Just a little touch...lol

I've been busy in my workshop printing up flyers. I just bought more presentation paper yesterday and more ink. I'll do 100 AA flyers for posting.

I'm also making copies of my owner paraphanalia as well as DVDs. Don't forget business cards and stuff!!

OK, so an update. Our BBQ broke. So, we won't be bringing one. I still think it would be fun to BBQ while there if anyone has one and room to bring it. Also was thinking I have one set of cross ties. Can we screw tie rings into the walls? I have tons of rings and screws, if we can. or do they have tie rings installed already? The barns we will be in, I take it they're temp ones. Are they on dirt, pavement, ??? Do we need mats?

The are indeed temp stalls with dirt floors. Mats are needed unless you want to just go with the HARD packed dirt. Applying screws is not possible. I bought 2 sets of cross ties and will loop them around the bars that are about 80% up the sides of the stalls. Perhaps rental of a BBQ in Scottsdale is a possibility that keeps us from having to haul it in.

we have a electric BBQ we can bring. It's not very large though. About 20" diameter. let me know!!

Go ahead and bring it Jerome. If I have room, I will bring my charcoal one as well, but no promises. I have some friends in the Scottsdale area, I will check to see if I can borrow theirs.

After reading all your posts on what you guys are planning for Scottsdale, I expect pictures of everything, from the fun and humor of set-up, pictures of the party, shots from the ring and of course the asile way after all the ribbons are hung.

I salute you for what you are under taking, and hope that the AA has great succuess and lots of fun.

We will definately have pictures up! I think several of us are taking lap tops and will be online daily. Is there WIFI at the arena? I think we'll start a new thread for stories, photos, etc.

Fabulous, if you get a new thread going please let us know, I for one in between college classes will be checking out the progress and how all of you are doing. That last big show that I attend was back in 2001 or 2002, Regional 13 show for sidesaddle with my 1/2 arabian gelding. Being a very green ammy it wasn't a good experince and I found that I like my back yard shows alot better than the Class A thing. So I really take my hat of to you folks how are going and showing.

7th for me - I'll be giving Del the lowdown on his stall location. Will be bringing some of the boys down to their first horse show so they can see what it's about. If they like it they may even come down for the show once it's started.

We'll be arriving early morning on the 10th. Asking kindly for the boss to have our stalls labelled and a bag of shavings for us as the office won't be open.

I will be leaving at about midnight on the night of the 8th and arriving somewhere between noon and 2p.m. on the 9th. My initial schedule is, barn decoration framing on the 9th (horses rest). Horse work, sand feet, grooming touchups on the 10th and completion of barn decorating (mulch, flowers, etc). Hauling horses to photo shoot in the desert on the 11th (horse day off). Bath the morning of the 12th and any last minute grooming touches......HIT THE DIRT RUNNING the afternoon of the 12th.

Getting down to my packing list. The final one . Do we still need the crock pot and the blender? I think alpha wanted the crock pot, is she still coming? I knew she was having problems getting a ride.

We certainly need the blender. Tough to make drinks without one:)
